You’re Invited to the Fall Festival!

Come to Blossburg October 14th to enjoy music, hay rides, food & more!

The Blossburg community would like to invite you to the 2018 Blossburg Vibe Fall Festival.

The event will take place on Sunday, October 14th from 12:00pm – 4:00pm in downtown Blossburg. This year’s activities include hayrides, music by The Radio Thieves, a pie baking contest, a kids’ pie eating contest, a balloon performer, an obstacle course bounce house, kids games, several craft and food vendors the Annual Hot Dog Eating contest!

Blossburg, Wellsboro, Mansfield & Liberty have always enjoyed friendly sports rivalries – it’s time to take it further! Come at your hungriest and sign up for the Hot Dog Eating contest! The entry fee is $10, and the winner will take home a beautiful custom-made trophy, bragging rights, and $200!

The 2018 Blossburg V.I.B.E. Fall Festival will be held on October 14th from noon – 4pm in downtown Blossburg. This year’s events will include a new addition: A Pie Bake-Off sponsored by Bradford – Tioga Head Start. The VIBE Pie Bake-Off will take place from 12:30pm – 1:30pm. Drop off your pie at the registration table at Noon to receive an entry number or sign up online. Three judges will assign numerical value in each of the following categories: Appearance, Filling, Flavor and Creativity. The pie receiving the highest score will win a custom VIBE Fall Festival pie plate and the runner up will receive a custom wooden baking spoon. Winners will be announced during the hot dog eating contest. All pies are welcome and contest is open to bakers of all ages!

Air Weaver Balloons, a.k.a. the Balloon Man, will also be making an appearance at this year’s Fall Fest. Sponsored by Sarah’s Dog Grooming, Bradford-Tioga Head Start and Bloss Pharmacy, the Balloon Man will be set up from 1:00pm – 3:00pm creating magical balloon art for free.

The annual Keith Lindie Hayride will be sponsored by the Hillside Rod and Gun Club where Keith was a member, Toddler University Daycare and Preschool, Seals Building Supply, Graham’s Heating, A/C & Refrigeration and First Citizens Community Bank. A special thank you to Bob Metarko for continuing this Blossburg tradition.

Other events scheduled for the day will include the 10th annual hot dog eating contest sponsored by Bloss Holiday Market and Nickerson Construction. Registration will be at 1:30 p.m. at the registration table and contest at 2:00 p.m. There is a $10 registration fee that includes a t-shirt and all the hot dogs a contestant can eat in 10 minutes. The winner will receive a hot dog trophy, $200 cash prize, the honor of being Blossburg’s Top Dog, and a chance to defend the title at the contest next year. Mayor, Shane Nickerson will provide bite-by-bite commentary for the audience. The competition is open to anyone age 14 or over.

The kids’ pie eating contest, sponsored by Bloss Pharmacy will take place at 3:00pm. Stop by the registration table to enter. There will be two heats this year for ages 7-11 and 12-15. This event is free and the winner of each heat will receive a $25 cash prize and a trophy. Mayor Shane Nickerson will emcee the event.

The Fall Festival includes food and craft vendors, games, ride-on tractors sponsored by Bradford-Tioga Head Start and Bloss Pharmacy and more family fun. Covington Baptist Church will sponsor an obstacle course bounce house, a kids bounce house and face painting. Entertainment for the event will be provided by The Radio Thieves sponsored by Age in Place Home Care located on Main Street, Blossburg. A special thanks to our other Fall Festival sponsors including 242 Coffee Company, Blossburg Borough, Stager Vehicle Sales, Bloss Beverage, Victoria Theater, Hillside Rod and Gun Club and First Citizens Community Bank.

Bloss Pharmacy will be open during Fall Fest with 25% off Polish Pottery and a free raffle for a quilted piece, Bloss Holiday Market will also be open for all of your shopping needs and there will be an open house at the Blossburg Police Department in the new borough office located at 241 Main Street. With over 50 vendors, this year’s Fall Festival will be one you don’t want to miss!
