MU Beat – Red Fridays
On today’s broadcast, we feature the latest edition of Mansfield University Beat with President Fran Hendricks and MU’s Director of Public Relations, Terry Day. Our focus for this installment of MU Beat is Red Friday.

Mansfield’s record of military service dates back to the civil war. Mounties have served and defended the United States of America from our early days as a nation and continue to do so to this day.

One of the ways that Mansfield University honors those who are currently serving our country, and their families, is by donning red every Friday.

Lady Hornets edge North Penn-Liberty, 9-6
The Wellsboro Softball team scored seven runs in the third inning and hung on to beat rival North Penn-Liberty on Tuesday, April 18.
“Most games you’d think seven runs would be enough but Liberty played a great game tonight,” said head coach Ron Brought. “They didn’t stop fighting. They kept getting key hits and we really struggled with the top of their lineup. They did a great job and our girls did as well and got runs when we needed it.”

On the Radar – Underage Drinking
Underage drinking can also affect you legally, financially, professionally, and socially. You could be charged criminally for consuming, possessing, purchasing, or transporting alcoholic beverages. Other charges might include public drunkenness, driving under the influence, or even worse being involved in a crash while driving under the influence.

Along with these criminal charges comes costs, fines, community service, or even jail time if you are 18 or older. Many people don’t consider the social ramifications that they and/or their family may suffer if they are involved in an underage drinking incident. Additionally, many employers will request criminal history backgrounds and check your social media sites to determine if you are the right kind of employee for their company.

Back to Basics – Stepping Out in Faith
Melissa Owlett and Barbara Winters join Pastor Freeman on today’s broadcast feature for a unique Back to Basics. They share their journey of stepping out in faith and being faithful to God’s call, even when they were not sure exactly what it all meant. As it turns out the mission is to bring the Gettys to our area for a concert on Saturday, April 29th. This labor of love was a step of faith for all three.
