The Weekly Briefing – Traffic Troubles

Be wary of these traffic problems and potential dangers!

by Joe Carreon

Today on Home Page we have a special edition of the Weekly briefing with Wellsboro Chief of Police, Jim Bodine. The Chief took Home Page on a ride-along and showed us some growing issues with parking around the Rock L. Butler Middle School as well as one of the more dangerous intersections in Wellsboro.

He illustrated to us how parking in “no parking zones” near the school can immensely complicate traffic flow for buses and crossing guards at the end of the school day. In addition, it can have the potential to effect the safety of students.

Next, we had a look at one of the more dangerous intersections here in Wellsboro, the intersection of Pearl Street and Central Avenue. It’s imperative for motorists to take their time when navigating their way across Pearl Street and onto Central Avenue.

Please be mindful when parking around the middle school and we urge you to use caution when driving through some of the complex intersections here in Wellsboro. We also want to remind our viewers that the chief would love to answer any questions you may have for him. If you have a question for the chief, please send it to
