Our communities gathered for a Sunday full of autumn fun!
Earlier this month Blossburg invited all the surrounding communities to come an enjoy the Blossburg Vibe Fall Festival on Sunday, October 14. This year’s turnout was one of the best ever. There were games, there was great food, there was music, there were vendors, and there were champions! It was a fantastic fall festival!
During the festival, the annual hot dog eating contest took place! Seven hungry contestants entered, but only one would emerge the champion! The rules were simple: they had 10 minutes to eat as many hot dogs as possible. Contestants could use ketchup, mustard, and water provided for dunking. And if they lost their lunch, they’d be disqualified. The contestants ate and ate and ate – until finally, it came down to a tie breaker. The two finalists had an additional five minutes to consume as many hot dogs as they could. In the end, the winner was Stephanie Wu from Oakland, California with a winning total of 22 hotdogs.
Next came the kids pie eating contest! Two age groups, (ages 7-11 and 12-15) competed to see who would be the pie eating champion! In the younger age group, Olivia Plouse took home the trophy, and Connor Cleveland won the 11-15 age group.
Blossburg Vibe would like to thank all their sponsors for helping to make this year’s festival a grand success and the surrounding communities for coming out and enjoy the festival.
