Mini Relay for Life 2018

Rock L. Butler Middle School students relay for life!

by Jennifer Outman – June 6, 2018

This year was the 8th annual Mini Relay for Life at Rock L. Butler Middle School. A group of students in this year’s senior class began this tradition as fifth graders- displaying a true interest in community service and raising funds for a worthy cause. The Mini Relay is run as a carnival type atmosphere with students creating and making the games and activities themselves. It encompasses approximately 600 students from grades 5-8 at the middle school and the 4th grade form Don Gill. This year’s event was a huge success with raising approximately $3,900, which will all be donated to the American Cancer Society.

An event like this would not be possible without the generous help and support from the Wellsboro students, parents, faculty, staff, and administration. A huge thank you also goes out to:
Deb Meacham and Jordyn Smith form the American Cancer Society
Meg Ralston, our guest speaker
Don Martindale and his DJ services
Susquehanna Health UPMC for an ice cream donation
Lance Allen for donating the hot dog rolls
Weis Markets for a $25 dollar donation
Tops Market for a donation of water
